SAY NO TO VIOLENCE

I have done this project to let people know what is happening in the world with the people that suffer violence against women. It has been a new project for me because I had never worked with lucidpress. I hope you like it and that it results interesting to you.

GEORGE FITZGERALD SMOOT

Hi people!! Now I am going to write an article about George Smoot. He won the Nobel Price in Physics of the year 2006 with John C. Mather. I have chosen this man because he has a very interesting live and because with his work he helped further the Big Bang theory of the universe using the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) satellite.

George Fitzgerald Smoot was born in February 20th of 1945 and he is an American astrophysicist, cosmologist, Nobel laureate, and one of two contestants to win the US$1 million prize on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2006 for his work on the Cosmic Background Explorer with John C. Mather that led to the "discovery of the black body form and anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation," making Smoot the only Nobel laureate born in Florida.

This work helped further the Big Bang theory of the universe

using the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) satellite. According to the Nobel Prize committee, "the COBE project can also be regarded as the starting point for cosmology as a precision science." Smoot donated his share of the Nobel Prize money, less travel costs, to a charitable foundation.

Currently Smoot is a professor of physics at the University of

California, Berkeley, senior scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and since 2010, a professor of physics at the Paris Diderot University, France. In 2003, he was awarded the Einstein Medal and the Oersted Medal in 2009.

SOCIAL WEBSITES

Hello everybody!! I am going to write about the social websites, like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter... The advantages an disadvantages they have. It is a good websites to connect with your friends, speak with people and to make new friends. But it also has more advantages:

• You can find any people that have Instagram, Facebook, Twitter…
• You can see other people's photos, comments, followers…
• You can communicate with friends from different places.
• It is free

But social websites also have a lot of disadvantages:

 

• They can do anything with my photos.
• People can use these webs to outwit you.
• You can spend too much time in your computer.
• You need an Internet connection.

In this websites, we have a lot of friends, but are all those friends your traditional friends or your websites friends? A social sites friend is a person who is interest to view your photos, comments, followers…And a traditional friend is someone that helps you in bad moments, who makes you laugh, who tells you her secrets...

Speaking about privacy, I think that it is very important to have your websites in privacity form because in that way you can accept or not the people you want. In these websites they don't ask you a lot of information. Only putting your main information is enough.

As a suggestion, I propose to make the websites with more security than now, to dodge the bullying and not to save photos or comments of other people.

LONDON

Who doesn't have one dreamed place to go? I love to travel, discover new places... Today I'm going to speak about the place of my dreams: London. I have never been to London but I want to go to see London Eye, Big Ben, the tower of London...

First, London is the capital and most popular city of England and the United Kingdom. This place is located by Thames River in the  south-east region of England, United Kingdom. With a population of 7,500,000,  it is the largest city in the European Union. London is a global city that leads in terms including finance, arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, healthcare, media, research and development, tourism. 


Secondly, I have heared that in London you can move by train, buses, underground, cars... The top 10 popular attractions of London are:
British Museum,

National Gallery,

Natural History Museum,

Tate Modern,

Coca-Cola London Eye,

Science Museum,

Victoria and Albert Museum, 

Tower of London,

Royal Museums Greenwich, 

Madame Tussauds London.

Finally, if you have an opportunity I recommend you to go to visit London because it has to be a wonderful and great place.
